Blue Goose Band 'live' in Humph Hall . . .

Many events in Humph Hall will be free. However, at times there will be 'house concerts' featuring professional musicians who make their living by performing. On these occasions, those attending will be asked to make a modest donation according to their means (e.g. $15/$10).

The first such concert featured Blue Goose Band, one of Australia's favourite folk bands who describe their music as: "old time blues, folk, a bit of jazz + original songs." They consisted of:

Sonia Bennett (vocals & guitar) - Sonia is one of Australia's most celebrated singer/songwriters. Not only has she written and recorded many renowned songs such as 'The Wollemi Pine' and 'Sydney Song', she has also recorded settings of poems by Henry Lawson, Denis Kevans, Billy Wye and others. She has performed on radio and television many times over a career spanning 30 years. Her glorious voice will sound stunning in Humph Hall!

Max Gregory (blues harp, slide guitar, banjo & acoustic guitar) - Max has played folk/blues/jug band music since the 1960s backing various vocalists and in many bands.

Bruce Stavert (piano, guitar, mandolin, ukulele & vocal harmonies) - Bruce has played a mixture of styles in folk/jug band/bluegrass/rock/blues/jazz groups since the early 70s.

Ralph Mitchell (bass, guitar & vocal harmonies) - Ralph teaches guitar and bass. He is also an experienced musician who plays a variety of styles including folk, blues, jazz and rock.

As will always be the case in Humph Hall, Blue Goose Band performed acoustically - no PA system!
